Grover Norquist is one of the most popular and richest Lobbyist who was born on October 19, 1956 in Sharon, Pennsylvania, United States. Grover Glenn Noquist (born on 19th October 1956) is an American politician and advocate for tax reduction who is the founder and the president of Americans for Tax Reform, an organization that is opposed to any tax increase. As a Republican Norquist is the main proponent of the “Taxpayer Protection Pledge”, which is a commitment by lawmakers who have agreed to resist any increases in marginal income tax rates for both individuals and businesses, and net reductions or the elimination of credits and deductions without the benefit of a tax reduction. Prior to the election of November 2012 the pledge was accepted by 95% of Republican lawmakers in Congress and by all except one candidate who are running for the Republican president’s nomination.
The year 1993 was when Norquist started his weekly Wednesday Meetings at the ATR headquarters. The purpose was initially to fight the healthcare reforms of President Clinton. The gathering eventually became one of the largest institutions of American political organization for conservatives. The gatherings have been described as “a must-attend event for Republican operatives fortunate enough to get an invitation” as well as “the Grand Central station of the conservative movement.” Medvetz (2006) asserts that the events have been crucial for “establishing relations of … exchange” between conservative subgroups as well as “sustaining a moral community of conservative activists.”

Norquist also served as a campaign staff member on the 1988, 1992 and 1996 Republican Platform Committees.
Norquist has described himself as a “boring white bread Methodist.” In 2004, at age 48, he married a Palestinian Muslim named Samah Alrayyes, a Kuwaiti PR specialist who was formerly a director of the Islamic Free Market Institute and specialist at the Bureau of Legislative and Public Affairs at United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The couple has adopted two children, both girls, one of whom was adopted from the city of Bethlehem.
At the beginning of his career Norquist was the executive director at both National Taxpayers Union and the national College Republicans, holding both post until 1983. He was the economist and Chief Speechwriter of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce between 1983 and 1984.
